About OnlineCasino Africa

Who we are, why this site exists, what we cover across African gambling markets, how we make money from affiliate links, and what we will not do for it.

Last updated

OnlineCasino Africa is an independent guide to online gambling across the African continent — casino reviews, game rules, market-by-market regulation, and support resources for people whose gambling has stopped being fun.

Why this site exists

Most casino affiliate sites serving Africa are thin. They list five casinos, repeat the bonus copy the operator supplied, and stop. Regulation goes unmentioned, game rules are copied from generic templates written for a European audience, and responsible gambling is a link in the footer.

We think the continent deserves better, for a straightforward reason: the regulatory picture here is genuinely complicated and changes often. Uganda’s minimum gambling age is 25. South Africa prohibits online casino gambling entirely. Nigeria’s regulatory structure changed by Supreme Court ruling in 2024. Kenya deducts 20% of your winnings before you see them. A player who does not know these things is not making an informed decision, and no bonus table fixes that.

What we cover

  • Casino reviews — with the licence, the withdrawal terms and the clauses that matter, not just the bonus headline
  • Game rules — how each game actually works, including the ones that matter here and get ignored elsewhere, like crash games
  • Country guides — legality, regulator, currency, payments and tax for individual African markets
  • Regulation — what a licence protects and what it does not
  • Safer gambling — warning signs, self-exclusion, and helplines by country
  • Guides — payments, bonus arithmetic, verification, and how to check a casino before depositing

How we make money

We earn commission when a reader signs up at a casino through our links. That is how the site is funded and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

What that does and does not affect is set out in full on our affiliate disclosure page, and the scoring method is documented on how we rate casinos. Both pages exist so you can judge our incentives yourself rather than take our word for it.

The short version: commission does not change our scores, and we publish the criticism alongside the recommendation. Several casinos we earn from carry warnings in their reviews.

What we will not do

  • Recommend casinos in markets where no legal option exists for residents. Our Egypt and Morocco pages list no casinos, because there is no responsible way to list one.
  • Present a bonus headline without the wagering, expiry and cashout conditions attached.
  • Publish content designed to reach people under the legal gambling age in their country.
  • Suggest that gambling is a way to make money. It is not, and advertising rules across Africa specifically prohibit implying otherwise.

Corrections

Regulation and bonus terms change constantly, and we will get things wrong. If you find an error — a regulator we have described incorrectly, a bonus term that has moved, a helpline that no longer answers — tell us at editorial@onlinecasino-africa.com and we will correct it and date the change.

Age and jurisdiction

This site is for adults over the legal gambling age in their own country — 18 in most African markets, 21 in Cameroon, 25 in Uganda. Gambling laws differ enormously across the continent. Nothing here is legal advice, and it is your responsibility to know the rules where you live.
